It is observed that the crankshaft repair companies based in Europe, UK, and Singapore do not have the facilities and necessary equipment to undertake onsite grinding and polishing of small crankpin diameters and small bearing widths. The grinding of a small diameter crankpin and the bearing width requires a grinding tool that is compact enough to be placed on the crankpin journal. For example – a Crankpin has a diameter of 130 mm and, a bearing width of 56 mm. Complete tooling is required to be inserted from the limited space available of the engine block window and has to be placed on the crankpin bearing width.

Due to the non-availability of tooling with the leading crankshaft engine repair companies, they generally advise removing the crankshaft from the engine block and sending it to the workshop for grinding and polishing purposes. We have observed in some cases even advice for replacement of the crankshaft is also given. This suggestion works out to be very expensive and time-consuming, especially in this time of recession.

Compact onsite crankshaft grinding machine designed by RA Power Solutions

RA Power Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Is the only company in the world that designs and manufactures its crankshaft grinding machines in technical collaboration with a leading Italian company.

The grinding machine manufactured by us can easily grind onsite even with a small diameter of 35 mm and a bearing width of 25 mm. This is a technological revolution and advancement done by RA Power Solutions engineers out of their experience, knowledge, and passion to do something new and different.

It’s our business to undertake regular grinding and polishing of crankshafts all over the world. We are sharing below details of a few engine crankshafts that got damaged and were successfully repaired by us. On going through the crankpin diameter and crankpin bearing width, one will observe that they are quite small.
